Library Collections

•  BOOKS

  Library possesses a rich collection of about 23140 books. Major collection is on agriculture and related fields with special emphasis on rubber crop. In addition to this, a good number of books on Molecular Biology, Tissue Culture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, Environment, Biochemistry, Crop Protection, Plantation Crops, Chemistry and Technology, Polymer science, etc., are included. Besides publications on Economics, Statistics, Management, Sociology, History and General Books are also available. Proceedings of Conferences/Symposia/ Seminars from other Rubber Research Institutes, International Rubber Organizations and National Institutes enrich the collections. Some of the old and rare books on rubber are the special attractions.  

  Reference collection includes Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Year Books, Directories, Handbooks, Census, Materia Medica, Hortus Malabaricus, Atlases, Biographies etc., and are arranged in the main block of the library in the Ground Floor.

  Pamphlets on various topics of rubber cultivation, rubber production, etc., published by Rubber Board are available for reference. All Rubber Board publications are kept separately.

• ARTICLES

  A database containing 15632 articles on various disciplines of crop management, crop improvement, crop physiology, crop protection, agricultural economics, etc., of rubber research and development has been developed. It includes the contributions of RRII, other Rubber Research Institutes and International Rubber Organizations. The literature covered are  scientific and technical research articles published in periodicals, books, monographs, papers presented at National and International conferences and seminars, theses and other publications of relevance. • CURRENT JOURNALS

  Currently LDC  subscribes 128 journals. Fifty journals are received as gift/exchange. Journals from leading publishers like Elsevier, Kluwer, Springer, Blackwell, John &Wiley etc., are available. Journals are arranged by broad subject categories with serial numbers assigned for each journal. An alphabetical list is displayed on the display racks. List of Current periodicals.  CLICK

• BOUND JOURNALS

  Bound volumes of journals are arranged alphabetically by title. Most of the core journals on rubber are available for the past several years.  Major abstracting journals in Biological, Agricultural and Technological field are included in the collection. Journals like Rubber Chemistry & Technology, Journal of RRIM and RRISL etc., published from 1928 are available. CLICK

• THESES

  Theses and Dissertations of Ph.D, M.Tech, M.Phil, B.Tech, PGDNRP   etc., are kept in closed reference section. About 170 theses related to natural rubber research are available. CLICK

• STANDARDS

  Library has a total collection of 6000 standards of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), British Standards(BS), American Society of Testing Materials(ASTM), International Standards Organization(ISO), etc. Standards are arranged in pamphlet boxes according to standard numbers. A database on Standards relating to Rubber products, Raw rubber properties, latex test methods, processing and other product specifications of NR are available. CLICK
