About Library

Library attached to the RRII was established in 1963 with an initial collection of 200 books. Later it was renamed as Library and Documentation Centre (LDC) and currently maintains a collection of over 50000 documents. The centre provides support to research and development activities of the Institute. The main objectives are selection, acquisition, storage, organization and dissemination of information in all areas of natural rubber research, NR industry and allied fields. Library activities are intimately linked with mandatory functions and aspirations of the parent organization Rubber Board. Library maintains adequate linkage with national and international research institutes, libraries and rubber related organizations for procuring information resources and publications. RRII library with its vast resources, infrastructure and service facilities occupy a unique place among the plantation crop based libraries in the country.
