How do I find a particular
document in the Library ?
Library catalogue is a tool used to find information regarding a book ,thesis or a journal. Since it is a tedious process, we are using SOUL (online access to library books and journals) . Here user can search for any book on a particular subject or of a particular author or on Boolean search.
To use the OPAC guidelines are given near the terminals. In case of any problem, you may seek the assistance of the help desk. |

Old students of DAVV can become special members for making use of the library. People from other organizations also can make use of the library provided there is institutional coordination.
Visitors outside the university jurisdiction are also permitted to make us of the library as a special case , temporarily for a couple of days on temporary membership. They are not eligible to borrow books from the library. |

HOW CAN
I BECOME THE MEMBER OF THE CENTRAL LIBRARY ?
Any student /Research Scholar, of the University Teaching Department, Teachers, staff members, officers are eligible to become members .The members will be issued with cards/pass books, etc for enabling them to make use of the library. The cards issued are valid for one year only. The teachers and the research scholars of the affiliated colleges are also eligible for registration in the central library. However the student of the affiliated colleges can register for membership in the H.S.Kamat Student Home Library, RNT Marg. |

Can a user
recommend a book for purchase?
Users can recommend a book to be purchased by
the library through their department heads. If the same
book is requested by many people and is prescribed in
the syllabus, then it will be considered. .
What should I do if the
book I borrowed got lost?
If the borrowed book is lost then ,immediately you should
give a letter to the Librarian stating the cause. If
the book is available in the market then the same should
be replaced. Otherwise, you have to pay the cost as
per rules.
Whom
to contact for queries regarding finding books and Journals?
There is a help desk in the ground floor for queries
regarding finding a book or a journal. OPAC gives the
call number of the book or the journal and if
u are not able to locate the book, please contact the
help desk or the Book Lifters available in the section
